Singapore holds the title of the world’s most expensive city. According to the Economist Intelligence Unit's (EIU) bi-annual Worldwide Cost of Living report, Singapore is ahead of many global cities in terms of cost of living. Car prices in Singapore are over the normal rate and transport costs are nearly three times higher than in New York. Asia’s business hotspot which is also Singapore turns out to be the most expensive city to buy clothes and cars. For groceries, Singapore is 11 percent more expensive than New York.

Anyone who has spent even a little time in Paris will know how quickly the city can drain your wallet. It’s the second most expensive city in the world, behind only Singapore and ahead of pricey cities like Oslo, Zurich and Sydney. Paris has maintained its ranking for 2 years now. Despite its weakening currency, Paris remains structurally extremely expensive to live in, with only alcohol and tobacco offering value for money compared with other European cities.
