Tech Logo Changes That Went For A Toss

BENGALURU: Logo’s always reflect a company’s identity and this is the principle on which all the companies follow diligently. All the companies change re –invent themselves once in a while and it is necessary just to recharge itself from the age old routine. A part of this re-invention is the new logo designs and trademarks which are to praise and criticism.

For instance, in summer 2014, when Airbnb released its new logo the internet swiftly tore it apart, pointing out the logo's resemblance to female genitalia. On this note Business Insider has compiled a list of the “worst ever tech logo designs of all times” and here is the rundown of those gaffes.

Airbnb:

Airbnb Logo Old and NewStarting with Airbnb’s wildly contentious new logo that according to some social media sites resembled female genitalia and that it had been stolen from another tech firm invited a lot of criticism in 2014. Airbnb gave a positive reaction to the whole criticism with a valid explanation that the new logo is a ‘belo’ which is a universal symbol of belonging.

Bing:

The old and class blue ‘bing’ logo turned yellow which was least recognized by the users. Bing decided to forgo its blue logo in 2013 when Microsoft redesigned and rebranded several of its products. The new and yellow bing with angular and modern redesigned logo garnered plenty of criticism from the Bing users. However, the company claims that it had made changes to take on its rival search engine— Google. Though Bing is not even remotely close rival to Google, it is the closest of all the search engines.
