Indian Billionaires Who Have Pledged Billions To Philanthropy

BANGALORE: It is of great encouragement when we hear of people doing something out of the normal to help a community, the poor or the needy. This extra mile act of selflessness to a cause we believe will change the state of the unprivileged in the society and around the world is being adopted by many but most of all the rich.

When the richest people around the world are willing to pledge a sum of their income or hard earned money it is mind blowing. Again money is not always the answer because it is easy to give blindly but hard to get our hands dirty in actually doing the act.

When it comes to that we can proudly look at some of the richest people in our nation as examples to this campaign. So here is a list of billionaires who have pledged huge sums of money to philanthropy compiled by Rediff.com.
