9. Hillshire Brands

Hillshire Brands made its debut on June 29, 2012 in Chicago, Illinois. They are the manufacturer and marketer of packaged meat and frozen bakery products for the retail and foodservice markets.

The company's portfolios of brands include Jimmy Dean, Ball Park, Hillshire Farm, Kahn’s, State Fair, Sara Lee, Chef Pierre Pies, Aidells, Gallo Salame and Golden Island Premium Jerky.

Tyson Foods is planning to buy Hillshire Brands Co for $8.55 billion, Pilgrim's Pride raised its offer to $55 per share from $45 per share, valuing Hillshire at $7.7 billion including debt.

10. DirecTV

DirecTV is an American direct broadcast satellite service provider launched on June 17, 1994, based in El Segundo, California. It transmits digital satellite television and audio to households in the United States.

American multinational telecommunications corporation is planning to buy satellite TV giant DirecTV and it has 5.7 million customers to DirecTV’s 38 million. The $49 billion deal has to clear federal regulation. Its attempted bid to add wireless broadband capacity via a buyout of T-Mobile was blocked by the government. Beyond that, increasing customers by more than six times makes the business case for the deal even more fascinating.
