S R Raja

General Manager - Strategy, Sasken Communication Technologies.

 

S R Raja is telecom versatilist with over 14 years of industry experience. He has been associated with Sasken Communication Technologies Ltd in various capacities for close to 10 years. As a General Manager - Strategy, his role is to identify new opportunities for business that leverage Sasken's strengths and product / service offerings and also to define new mobile solutions that serve the needs of emerging markets. He consistently travels and explores the rural Indian landscape and identifies key imperatives for business success. One of his recent focus has been to examine the role of the mobile phone in the Empowerment of the Rural India Women and other livelihood applications. He is a frequent invited speaker to various conferences in the Micro Finance; New technologies and Mobile VAS areas. Raja also serves the community of mobile enthusiasts as a Co-Founder Trustee and President of the Bangalore Chapter of Mobile Monday - an international movement. He is married and lives in Bangalore with his wife and 5 year old son.

Head - Service Delivery and Product Engineering, July Systems.

 

Vikas is the Head of Service Delivery and Product Engineering at July Systems, and has over 11 years of experience in the managed mobile services space.  Earlier, he was the CTO of Unimobile Inc. where he was responsible for architecting and delivering various mobile consumer products - including the world’s first global cross-carrier 2-way internet to mobile messaging virtual network. His achievements include building a virally propagated mobile integrated instant messaging service that had over a million users.
Vikas holds multiple patents for key innovations in the mobile space. He also follows his own brand of agile development methodology to build cutting edge technology products. These can be continuously adapted to different customer needs, without sacrificing the pace of product development.

 

 


Prakash Sayini

Forum Nokia India Lead.  

Prakash Sayini is a seasoned telecom professional with 14 years of experience, who extensively worked in all domains of mobile telecommunications starting from R&D, Standardization, Pre-Sales, Business Development and Developer relations. He is currently leading Forum Nokia India activities where he is continuously innovating new ways to engage and entice developer community to develop mobile applications and providing business opportunities. Prior to Nokia he spent 8 years with Siemens Communications which is now part of Nokia Siemens Networks and 3 years with National University of Singapore (NUS) leading the 3G software development and standardization activities. He has solid e2e understanding of telecommunication systems mainly in the areas of IMS/FMC and Service Delivery Frameworks and Platforms. 

 

 

 

Suresh Anantpurkar

Vice President of Products, mChek.

 

Suresh is responsible for all aspects of product development and operations at mChek – and is tasked with making mChek a nimble, yet process-oriented engineering organization. He has more than 15 years of experience and software engineering expertise at product development companies in the US and in India. Suresh is very accomplished at creating, leading and motivating high-performance and distributed engineering teams and implementing corporate development standards. Prior to mChek, Suresh headed India operations of Centrata, a Kleiner Perkins funded startup in the on-demand space. Prior to Centrata Suresh worked for several years at Oracle, both in Silicon Valley and subsequently in Bangalore. At Oracle, he was responsible for engineering development of the CRM product. Suresh has also worked at Motorola and Kellogg as a consultant in the US. Suresh has a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore and an undergraduate degree in Production Engineering from VJTI, Mumbai. Suresh has published several technical papers in organizational development and in software technology.

 

 

 

Vishnu Sunderam

CTO, Interchain Solutions


Sunderam is a first generation entrepreneur. He passed in 2005 with a Masters degree with specialization in Software Engineering from PSG College of Technology. He then started his career - started a career with Trilogy as a Technical Analyst. In 2006, he became Tech Fellow in Trilogy (only 15 from 500 people are tech fellows in the company). By end of 2006, he moved on to become a "Presales and Product Management Associate" and worked directly with the Vice President & Director of Trilogy Inc in evangelizing a auto lead scoring system which revolutionized the U.S. auto lead industry. In 2007, quit Trilogy to start Interchain, a product company born out of a pet project that he was working on for two years. Sunderam holds a patent on "Location Based Services in the Mobile Space" which backs Interchain’s core product called GPSWatch. In a span of one and a half, Interchain has grown from 3 to 20 people organization. Apart from Interchain, he also co-founded Lifeblob, a life aggregation service. Sunderam’s vision to create killer mobile services that can transform everyday lives of people has been the trigger behind his entrepreneurial venture.

 

 


Viswanathan Thiagarajan
Director of Software, Veveo.


A B.E. (Hons) from BITS Pilani, Thiagarajan has about 13 years of experience in the industry. He started his career as member of the technical staff at Modena Software. Here he worked on optimization and compliance test suits for C++ compilers. He later joined Isochrone Inc. where he was the Chief Developer and Architect for Click2Dial – AT&T's Teleconferencing application over the Internet for SOHO and small B2C. In 2000, he changed base to U.S. for a short time and worked as a Technical Manager at Winphoria Networks. Here he designed, developed and patented PushToTalk solution over cellular data networks. Three years later he relocated to India to join Motorola’s Networks Division as the Engineering Manager and worked extensively on PushToTalk product development, Network Elements and the core client (protocol stack) for the Mobiles. Currently, he is the Director of Software at Veveo and is responsible for the design and development of consumer facing video mobile applications on various platforms like Windows Mobile, Symbian, J2ME, iPhone and Android.

Amol Gurwara

Head – India Operations, Electronic Arts

Gurwara joined EA, a leading game publisher, in March 2007. As the head of the company’s development center in Hyderabad, he has grown the center from 70 to a 400 member team. Currently, the functions that are present in the Hyderabad centre of EA, pertain to mobile game development, console game automation tools and technologies, console and PC game art development.

Prior to EA, Gurwara co-founded Aurona Technologies, a UK based entertainment technology services company, which is now part of the Pyramid Saimira group. At Aurona, he managed the operations comprising of 100 plus PC, console and mobile game programmers, game artists and software engineers. He has close to a decade of experience in businesses pertaining to interactive media and entertainment technologies, with a track record in establishing delivery capabilities and processes to exacting global quality standards. 

Before Aurona, he worked at Recreate Solutions, based initially in Mumbai and then briefly in London, handling client relationships across UK and parts of Europe. Gurwara holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing Communications from Mudra Institute of Communication, Ahmedabad (MICA) and Bachelors in Electronics Technology from Loyola Academy, Secunderabad.

 

 

Patanjali Somayaji

Director of Engineering, Azingo

Somyaji leads the Platform and Product Team, which is responsible for defining Azingo's mobile platform roadmap, product implementation, and technology integration.  He also drives Azingo's integration of Open Source, Open source strategy, technology adoption, and advanced technology projects.  His role involves providing Linux Mobile Platform solutions to Azingo's OEM, ODM and Operator customers. Earlier, he held headed the company’s R&D center at Pune. Prior to this, Somyaji was the co-founder and CEO of Codito Technologies, an embedded Linux company based in Pune, which was acquired by Azingo in 2006. As CEO of Codito, he drove strategy, operations, business development and sales, and successfully grew the embedded engineering business around Linux services and open source software. Codito developed and patented the world's first integrated multi-core software programmability solution, and provided cutting edge Linux and multi-core software solutions to leading semiconductor companies and OEMs. Somyaji is active in the open source movement, an early contributor to the GNOME project, and is part of the co-ordinating team of the Pune GNU/Linux users' group. He has also taught undergraduate courses in systems programming and operating systems at the University of Pune. Somyaji is a BE in Computer Engineering from the University of Pune.

Shripad Agavekar

Agavekar brings with him 15 plus years of experience in the software industry, especially in the Telecom domain. He has a decade long experience focusing on handheld & mobile devices and has worked closely in the mobile services space since its inception. Agavekar is a Computer Science engineer from Bharitya Vidypeeth, Pune and has a Post Graduate Diploma from C-DAC. He has been with Persistent for the past five years. Persistent telecom business unit has more than 800 engineers, developing products for leading Telecom software companies in the U.S. and other countries.

 

 

Satyajit Ray Sreekurmam

Sreekurmam has over 13 years of rich experience in Geology, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and Location (GPS) based services and products with proven project and product management skillets. He was a member of the core team at Satyam Navigation since the year 2003 when SatNav was a part of Satyam Computer Services. Since then he has handled various project implementations and has an extensive experience in execution of complex assignments. Currently as the VP-Technology, he handles delivery of projects for multiple critical areas of SatNav businesses.
