Nevis Networks was founded in 2002 by Manish Muthal and Amol Mahajani who had stints earlier from Juniper Networks and Cisco Systems. They started the company with a vision that the world of enterprise networking and LAN security were coming together. Today Nevis Networks is a market leader in secure switching and identity-based policy enforcement appliances. The company’s LAN enforcer product family transparently enforces identity-based policies in real time within the network fabric, tightly controlling who can access a company’s network and what resources they are permitted to use.

LAN enforcer products, a family of ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) based security system helps to lock down LAN from internal security threats. “This is the only product, which combines the chip and the software, in the global market, which can protect against laptop-born viruses, unauthorised confidential data access, enforce business policies upon network activity and meet US regulatory reporting and auditing requirements”, explains Tushar Dave, President and CEO.

LANenforcer appliances link user, endpoint, network, and application access policy
control into a single dynamic access control system, to ensure data integrity while simplifying security provisioning and monitoring. Unlike existing alternatives, no client software is required, which makes deployment easy, eliminates the need for desktop software maintenance, and significantly lowers acquisition and operating costs.

Cross-industry customers from Europe, Asia and America, ranging from financial services, healthcare, education and defense contractors deploy Nevis LANenforcers to protect sensitive network resources and assets, and significantly reduce the overall costs and time to resolve security breaches and conduct network audits. The company has raised over $40 million from veteran Silicon Valley investors New Enterprise Associates, BlueRun Ventures, and New Path Ventures.

Nevis Network is headquartered in Mountain View, California, with has R&D centers in Pune, India and Beijing, China and has a headcount of 150 engineers.
