LG Stylus 2 with Nano-Coated Tip Launched in India

BENGALURU: LG is on a roll right now. The company earned well-deserved plaudits at this year’s Mobile World Congress after it unveiled the groundbreaking modular smartphone, the G5. At the MWC, LG had introduced a few other models as well, including the Stylus 2; but sadly, they all went unnoticed in the hullabaloo surrounding G5. Now, LG has launched the Stylus 2 for the Indian market at a price tag of 19,500.

The Stylus 2 flaunts the usual features of a mid-range smartphone. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow tailored with LG UI 5.0 and sports a 5.7 inch In-Cell display having a screen resolution of 720x1280 pixels. Under the hood, the phone is powered by a 1.2 GHz Quad-core Snapdragon processor coupled with Adreno 304 GPU and 2GB RAM. The Stylus 2 boasts of a 13- megapixel CMOS rear camera and an 8-megapixel front facing camera.

The 4G smartphone also comes with standard connectivity features Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, and Micro-USB. It has a 3000mAh removable battery which is “OK” for an Android nowadays. As mentioned earlier, the phone is packed with all the regular features seen in a budget smartphone. But, then why the 19,500 price tag?

Well, the Stylus 2 has a “stylus” armed with a nano-coated tip for better accuracy. In comparison, its predecessor, the G4 Stylus had a rubber-tipped pen. Now, that hefty price tag is justified, I guess. It also has some cool stylus features like Pen Pop–a popup menu with shortcuts such as Pop Memo and Pop Scanner that shows up when the stylus is removed from the slot. In addition, the Pen Keeper feature present in the device informs users when the stylus bay is left vacant.
