8 Things Still Missing From The iPhone

SD card support for extra storage:

Everybody wants to save the world in the smartphone and the solution for this is that smartphones have a slot for an SD memory card; that gives them additional storage space to store files.

But Apple's iPhones do not have such a slot or any support for expanding storage. The reason is that, iPhone comes with different internal memory capacity at a different rate, like 16GB iPhone costs $19, while 64GB costs $79. It also charges $200 more for this extra storage capacity.

If Apple starts giving space for SD card people will buy the cheapest iPhone of 16GB and use SD card to extend the memory.

NFC for mobile payments:

NFC devices can be used in contactless payment systems, similar to those currently used in credit cards and electronic ticket smartcards, and allow mobile payment to replace or supplement these systems. NFC also lets you beam content between devices just by tapping them together.

But iPhone does not support NFC as of now. One reason might be that Apple has used its own proprietary technology iBeacon that is based on Bluetooth Low Energy (Bluetooth LE) and is less power hungry than NFC in all its iPhones since 2011.

However there is a rumor that iPhone6 might feature NFC connectivity.
