Video Games That Cost More Than A Feature Film

# Grand Theft Auto: One of the most popular game series with most acclaimed success worldwide in both financially and critically is the Grand Theft Auto series. It has received very good reviews in most of the series and according to Wikipedia, it has sold close to $150 million copies worldwide and in the first week of its release, GTA has sold close to 6 million copies worldwide, earning over$500 million.

Laslie Benzies, the producer of the GTA has estimated that it cost Rock Star games $100 million to produce it. The latest release of the GTA 5 has won seven Guinness World Records in 2013 and it is also the bestselling video game in 24 hours. It has generated around $800 million on the first day of its release in 2013.

# Max Payne 3: Developed by the Rock Star studios and published by the Rock star games, the Max Payne managed to sell close to 440, 000 units in the U.S. and apparently after one year of its release it managed to sell 4 million copies.

It was released in 2012 for the Play station 3 and Xbox 360 and although the game was scheduled to be released in 2009 as the franchise needed more development time. The game is the first release into the Max Payne series since the 2003’s version of Max Payne 2. The game costs around $105 million to produce and it reached the target to break even with the production cost after a year.
