HTC One X

Price: Rs. 34300 - Rs. 46000
The Good: On its 4.7-inch high-resolution display everything looks good. The camera is excellent and snaps brilliant and crisp images. The HTC Sense User Interface is smoothing and the performance is awesome with powerful Quad-core processor. The device is lightweight too.

The Bad: The lack of mircoSD card slot is a really saddening. Non-removable 1,800mAh battery which gives only one day juice will make you want for more. The video clarity is not that appreciable.

The Bottom Line: HTC has brilliantly crafted the best branding, industrial design and user experience in this masterpiece of theirs named One X. The phone has the best display we have seen, comes with quad-core processor, good camera and easy-to-use interface.

HTC launched their stunning flagship Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) smartphone at MWC. HTC One X is surely one of the best handset 2012 has seen so far, so let’s know what secrets do this beauty holds.

Design: One X comes with a polycarbonate body, unlike all other HTC handsets we have seen so far with aluminum unibody finish. HTC has cut down the weight and as we hold it, it feels a bit cheap in your palm. The handset is comfortable to hold, it has pleasant curves and has enough grip.

The thing that holds your eyes is the huge 4.7-inch 720p display having 1,280 x 720 pixels resolution which delivers sharp images and texts. One X has three touch-sensitive keys located just below the screen which gives the display a bit more space. One more good news is that the screen comes protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 2 which is makes it much stronger.

The phones as glossy sides, measures just 8.9mm and weighs about 130g, thank to its polycarbonate finish. The battery is non-removable, no micro-SD card slot, but comes with 32GB onboard storage which is enough for most of us.

Processor and Operating system: Running of Quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 clocked at 1.5GHz this phone is one of the best performer in the market. The processor comes teamed with 1GB of RAM and the device runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, on the top HTC Sense interface.

The company’s Sense UI has enhanced the overall performance of the device. Sense UI has improved the app-switching panel and camera app interface which lets the device take burst photos and click stills while recording video.

Features and Performance: The presence of quad-core processor and low-power core gives the device blazing fast speed without any Android lags.

Connectivity: One X supports a whole swing of connectivity options which includes Bluetooth 4.0, near-field communication (NFC), DLNA, MHL and HSPA. The handset also comes with a Media Link mode that connects with Media Link HD accessory and turns your television into a smart TV.

Camera: With that 8MP rear camera with single LED flash you can click varied styles of photos with the help of HTC superb camera software and using the raw power of the quad-core chipset. You can also record 1080p videos using the rear camera and there is a 1.3MP sensor on the front to make 720P HD videos and do video calls.

Battery: HTC One X has an 1800mAh battery which unfortunately is sealed within its chassis. The juice last for about a full day and you might be able to save some battery if you turn of the notifications. As the battery is non-removable it’s recommended to carry your charger.

Wrap-Up: If you are waiting to upgrade your Android phone then One X hits on all right notes. It has a fast processor, stunning display, good clicker, easy-to-access user interface and an attractive design. After the coming of Samsung Galaxy S3, the HTC’s masterpiece lost its glam a bit. But still it’s a monster worth having.
The only concern which makes us worry is the battery life.
