Bank of China Limited (BOCI) headquarters are in Xicheng District, Beijing. It was established in 1912 by the Government of the Republic of China, to replace the Government Bank of Imperial China. BOCI is the oldest bank in China. From 1912-1942, it issued banknotes on behalf of the Government. At present, it owns subsidiaries in London, New York, Hong Kong and Singapore, and a sales network covering most major Chinese cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing and Guangzhou.
