Dr. Janet Yellen an American economist was born to a Jewish family in New York. At present she is the Chair of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. She is considered as the first women to head the Fed in its hundred year history. When Fore live asked about feeling of being one of the few female central bankers in the world, Dr Yellen said “I really think this is something we’re going to see increase over time, and it’s time for that to happen.” Being a PhD in economics from Yale University and with a previous career as Professor of economics at University of California at Berkeley, she has got a lot of academic credentials. She is said to be women with immense intelligence.
