3. “I Can’t Say ‘No’ to a Bumper Sale”

It’s in our Indian genes to never forego a good bargain, be it in food or shopping. Post liberalization, there has been a huge boom in major retail outlets. This offers us consumers with oodles of variety when it comes to shopping, including big brands. But this two-edged sword has its downside. Sometimes we get so carried away with a sale, that we end up buying useless things.

What to Do: A good sale might seem like a good deal but ask yourself this – do you really need it. You might be getting a major deal on shoes or cell-phones but you must question their utility. If the purchase only adds to something you already have, then the deal is bad one. Buying items on sale is a good bargain only if you indulge in them once in a while.
