Key Indian Equity Indices Trade Higher


MUMBAI: Key Indian equity market indices opened in the green on Thursday despite a fall in oil prices and Asian markets opening lower.

The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) was trading at 53.95 points or 0.19 pct higher during the early session.

The wider 51-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading at 17.25 points or 0.20 pct higher at 8,743.85 points.

The BSE Sensex, which opened at 28,398.33 points, was trading at 28,426.18 points (at 9.16 a.m.) in the early session, higher 53.95 points or 0.19 pct from the previous day's close at 28,372.23 points.

The Sensex touched a high of 28,430.47 points and a low of 28,398.33 points in the trade so far.
