Benchmark sensex bounces back to green, up 110 pts


Mumbai: The BSE benchmark Sensex erased its initial losses, recovering over 110 points at 1130 hrs on emergence of selective buying in oil and gas, banking and IT sector stocks. The 30-share Sensex, which dipped below the benchmark 19,000 points level to 18,976.19 points in early trade,bounced by 110.75 points to 19,201.92 level at 1130 hrs. It had lost over 600 points in the previous two sessions. Likewise, the broad-based National Stock Exchange index Nifty moved up by 33.85 points to 5,762.95 level after dipping to 5,693.25 in early morning trade. Brokers said emergence of selective buying by funds in oil and gas, financials and IT sector stocks put the Sensex in green, but weakening trend on other Asian bourses capped its gains.
