Banks To Offer More Services At Non-Home ATMs

BANGALORE: Are you only able to withdraw cash from ATMs, want more facilities? Good news for all the ATM users! According to the new decision taken by the National Payments Corporation of India and some private and public-sector banks, more services will be allowed at the non-home ATMs. Apart from withdrawing cash, customers will be allowed to deposit cash, or order a cheque book at the non home ATMs as reported by Business Standard. All the banks are testing this new plan of offering the several services at the non home ATMs and if it comes out to be feasible then, they are deciding to seek approval from the RBI. Recently banks are offering services such as payment of telephone bills, electricity bills, and DTH recharge at the ATMs.

Main facilities that the banks are working on are for instance ordering cheque, statement request, depositing cash and card-to-card transfer inter-operable. Some banks like YES Bank, Andhra Bank and Union bank have already started with the facility such as transfer of cash between two accounts of different banks via debit card. The key reason behind this measure is to increase number of transactions at the ATMs.
