Remember the 4Cs while buying diamonds i.e. cut, colour, clarity and carat weight are four crucial parameters which determine the quality and price of diamond. There are quite a few variety of diamond available in the market, and each quote a different price depending on its quality. One such type is the Internally flawless (IF) diamonds commands fine quality. It is mostly used in the form of solitaires (a gem fitted in a ring) and are made on orders. The other two kind of diamond such as VVS or SI clarity diamonds, are commonly used to make jewellery.

Buy Only Certified Diamonds

"An individual should buy only those diamonds which are certified by international laboratories such as International Gemological Institute (IGI) or Gemological Institute of America (GIA). Most jewellers offer only their own certification, which doesn't authenticate the quality of diamonds in true sense," says Agarwal of Gitanjali Export Corporation.
