As a career oriented women Jyoti has been battling gender biasness since long. During the 1995 when the private mutual funds were not that famed, she moved from a research job at JM Shares and Stock Brokers to the group's freshly formed unit.

Jyoti debuted as a debt analyst concentrating on short-term loans with General Insurance Corporation. This gradually paved her way towards JM Share and Stock Brokers. She joined Aviva in 2004 as head of equity and later took charge as the chief investment officer.

4. Sohini Andani, 42

Funds managed: 1, 000 crore

Sohini Andani proved her guts when she had foreseen the great potential in Pantaloon Retail (then trading at 40/share) and suggested her investors witnessing its share price to boost at a rocket speed to 700 by 2007. Over the years, she showed that her decision to buy Pantaloon was no coincidence as she spotted similar prospects in Yes Bank, HCL Tech and Divi's Lab, also.

Sohini started her career with KR Choksey Shares & Securities in 1995. Later she joined SBI Mutual Fund as a research head. It didn’t take her too long to reach the position of a fund manager. Today, she manages SBI Bluechip and SBI Magnum Midcap schemes.
