7. Subsidies

The government provides certain low priced goods to the people of the country compared to the market rates; these are known as subsidized goods. The subsidies on goods include food, fertilizers, and petroleum products and in the year 2012-13 it was estimated that the amount spent on subsidies would be Rs 1.9 lakhs crore.

8. Debt servicing

Debt servicing is known as the amount that is spent in managing the debt amount of the country. It amount that is mentioned in the union budget consists of the total amount paid during the year along with the interest payments made on loans.

9. Plan Expenditure

This is the amount which the government spends on the consultations with the Planning Commission and also to achieve other developmental projects and goals that comes under the 5 year plans. In 2012-13 the total plan expenditure was estimated at 5.2 lakhs crore.

10. Non Plan Expenditure

The non plan expenditure is the amount that the government has spent for the day to day operations of the country. Expenses like salaries, pension, administrative costs, defense expenses, subsidies are all under non plan expenditure.
