Threat Intelligence Bureau (TIB) LTD.: Offering AI-Based Threat Intelligence

Ashwin Venugopal, Founder

Threat Intelligence Bureau (TIB) is driven by the mission to provide maximum security and peace of mind to individuals, organizations, and institutions through AI-powered cybersecurity solutions. The company was founded by a visionary and industry veteran, Ashwin Venugopal.

Ashwin's entrepreneurial journey started with him as an independent consultant, specializing in cybersecurity. He soon became recognized by Microsoft as one of Microsoft Azure's Most Valuable Professionals (MVP). Prior to that, Ashwin had worked as support engineer (L3) and architect for Microsoft customers and partners. He delivered value by collaboratively solving customer problems and providing proactive support advice. Ashwin made noteworthy contributions to technical communities by sharing his expertise and passion. He helped many companies define their security architecture and ensured that it met their business requirements and performance. objectives.

During his stint, Ashwin noted that often organizations, particularly SMBs, were struggling due to the lack of an in-house cybersecurity specialist. The pressure of maintaining a lean operational model impelled them to manually handle security incidents instead of making a significant investment in cutting-edge tools.

“They of ten lacked an in-house cybersecurity specialist due to their focus on core business operations and end up spending a significant amount of time and effort manually handling a security incident,” says Ashwin, the founder of Threat Intelligence Bureau (TIB) LTD.
Another challenge organizations face is the sheer volume of alerts they receive which may turn out to be false positives and waste time and resources if they are manually investigated.

TIB was the materialization of Ashwin’s vision of helping SMBs and entrepreneurs efficiently manage cybersecurity risks.

TIB provides a suite of AI-based tools under its AI.ThreatIR platform, which enables organizations to automate their responses to security threats. By using machine learning algorithms, these tools can analyze vast amounts of data in real-time and identify potential threats before they can cause harm. This helps organizations to save time and effort by responding to incidents quickly and effectively.

In addition to the AI.ThreatIR platform, TIB offers a range of tools & services that can help organizations to identify, protect, detect, respond, and recover from cyber security attacks.

For example, TIB's Threat Intelligence service provides real-time threat intelligence and analysis, allowing organizations to stay up-to-date with the latest threats and trends. TIB's Vulnerability Management service helps organizations to identify vulnerabilities in their IT infrastructure and prioritize remediation efforts. TIB's Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) service allows organizations to collect and analyze log data from various sources to detect security threats in real-time.

And TIB's Incident Response service provides a structured approach to responding to security incidents, ensuring that organizations can quickly contain and eradicate threats. By offering these services, TIB is able to provide a comprehensive suite of solutions that can help organizations to stay ahead of the ever-evolving threat landscape.
At its core, TIB follows multiple frameworks to guide its cybersecurity operations, including the widely adopted MITRE ATT&CK framework, which serves as a globallyaccessible knowledge base of adversary tactics and techniques based on real-world observations. In addition to ATT&CK, TIB leverages the NIST Cyber Security Framework, which provides a comprehensive set of guidelines and best practices for managing cybersecurity risk.

With the combination of AI and human expertise, we are well-positioned to help organizations stay ahead of the constantly evolving threat landscape and protect their assets from cyber threats in the years to come

TIB also utilizes the SANS Incident Management Framework, which offers a structured approach to detecting, containing, and eradicating cyber threats. Furthermore, TIB incorporates the MITRE D3FEND framework, which is focused on defining and categorizing defensive techniques to counter adversary tactics and techniques. By leveraging multiple frameworks, TIB is able to provide a comprehensive approach to cybersecurity that is tailored to the specific needs of its clients and the threat landscape they face.

Under Ashwin’s strategic leadership, TIB is on the right track to disrupt the cybersecurity space. It currently aims to launch AI.ThreatIR platform by June 2023.

“With the combination of AI and human expertise, we are well-positioned to help organizations stay ahead of the constantly evolving threat landscape and protect their assets from cyber threats in the years to come,” says Ashwin.
