New Delhi: India's leading telecom service provider Bharti Airtel Tuesday said it will expand its cable network to Bhutan to help the IT and IT-enabled services sector of that country. The telecom major has signed an agreement with the Bhutan government in this regard, the company said in a statement. The financial details of the partnership were not disclosed. "We are deeply honoured to have the opportunity to partner with the royal government to help build a world class ICT (information and communication technology) infrastructure in Bhutan," said Manoj Kohli, Chief Executive and Joint Managing Director of Bharti Airtel. The initiative to create the terrestrial cable network in Bhutan will boost IT and telecommunication infrastructure in the Himalayan kingdom, Airtel said. Bhutan is a favourite destination of global organisations for setting up back office and data centre businesses.
