A man born in the 19th century, a patriotic saint who touched the heart of millions, is still considered as a youth icon and his birthday is celebrated as the National Youth Day. What makes Swami Vivekananda a youth idol, whose words are still cherished by people and who serves as an inspiration for the youth? On the occasion of his 150th birthday, let us have a look at some of the important lessons which he bestowed on youngsters-
Respect women
According to this monk, the downfall of the country was mainly due to the disregard shown to women. He firmly believed that there is no distinction between sexes and moreover he considered women as divine mother. ‘The idea of perfect womanhood is perfect independence’, said Vivekananda.
