6. Marissa Mayer

Designation: CEO, Yahoo

Mayer in her earlier company Google played an important role in the development of major products. She took over the challenge of bringing up the plunging internet giant Yahoo, when she came in as its CEO. Since then the corporation has restructured some of its products and also acquired its competitor named Tumblr.

Her total salary of $36.6 million, is largely divided into $35 million in stock awards and a bonus of $1.12 million. She being on Yahoo board is no surprise. Mayer featured on Fortune’s annual list of 50 powerful women six times in a row.

7. Susan Wojcicki

  Designation: Senior VP, Google

The person who allowed Larry Page and friends to set up Google in her garage has climbed up to the position of senior vice president for Google’s ads & commerce. She heads the Google's ad products like AdWords, AdSense and DoubleClick.  She monitored internet giant’s Analytics as well.

She is named among the Forbes magazine’s top 100 most powerful women. It is estimated that the sectors she represented contributed 87 percent of the $50 billion revenue generated by the company.
