The no. 2 spot in the world rankings goes to Finnish mobile giant Nokia. For the past couple of years, Nokia has been continuously losing sales and things hasn’t changed much as the ‘once world no.1’ mobile corporation recorded faltered sales of 60.9 million mobiles in the second quarter of 2013. This is less than the 83.4 million mobile phone devices that the company shipped during the same quarter last year. Also Nokia’s global market share fell to 14 percent from 19.9 percent a year ago.

And the numero uno spot goes to non-other than the South-Korean manufacturers, Samsung. With mind blowing sales of 107.5 million in 2013, Samsung truly uplifted the numbers from 90.4 million units in 2012,
Also the company’s global market share in the mobile world rose from 21.5 percent in 2012 to 24.7 percent this year.
