Huawei is the fourth Chinese company to make the list and comes in at number 6 with global sales of over 11 million units, up from 10.8 million units in 2012. In terms of market shares, the company stood constant with 2.2 percent, both in 2012 and 2013.

#5 ZTE

At number 5 is another Chinese mobile maker, ZTE. According to Gartner, ZTE has recorded of over 15.2 million sales globally. ZTE is also one of the two companies to record sales fall during the second quarter of 2013.

In 2012, ZTE sold more than 17 million units and held a market share of 4.1 percent, whereas, this year the market share dipped drastically to 3.5 percent, recording a downfall of 0.6 percent.
