Why iPhone 5C Won't Be Welcomed In India

Gartner principal research analyst Anshul Gupta said that iPhone 5C will not be the cheapest Apple handset in India and it will face competition from iPhone 4 (costs much less at about 23,000) and iPhone 4S (has nearly same price tag as that of 5C.)

"Price point of iPhone 5C could be in the range of Rs 30,000-35,000, which will not be seen as a low-end product. Apple will have to calibrate the Indian market carefully for its launch," IDC India country head Jaideep Mehta told PTI.

So iPhone 5C will miss the tag of “cheaper iPhone” in India, and it may not dispel the popularity of iPhone 4 and 4S for the same reason. The market where Nokia’s flagship phones like Lumia 925 are offered at about 30,500, and Android Smartphones at as low as about 5,000, iPhone 5C may not receive a warm reception in India.
