1. Vienna, Austria: Vienna, the capital and largest city of Austria for the 5th time in a row tops as the world’s most livable cities. Apart from being regarded as the City of Music because of its musical legacy, this city is also said to be ‘The City of Dreams’ because it is home to the world's first psycho-analyst–Sigmund Freud.

The historic center of Vienna has been added to UNESCO's World Cultural Heritage list. It has about 2,000 coffee houses, with many of the traditional ones in the old city center. The Vienna State Opera offers over 50 operas and ballet works amounting to 300 days per season. Norbert Kettner, director of the Vienna Tourist Board said, "The profile of the tourist arrivals in Vienna's mirrors the global economic situation, as we have seen a strong increase from emerging—particularly Asian—regions,” reports India Bloom.
