Nissan Motor Company
Nissan Motor Company was previously known as Datsun and was renamed in 1981. Successfully branded as Nissan throughout other parts of the world, Nissan products did not change its name from Datsun in America until February 1981 and the reason for this delay was to avoid American hostility towards the "Nissan" brand, which was used by the company when it was a major military manufacturer in World War II. When this risk faded, the company adopted the name Nissan globally.
