Watch Out For Kinky Wearable Tech At CES 2014

Toronto-based Bionym Inc. will present its Nymi wristband at CES 2014. The gadget keeps a check on the user’s heartbeat that determines his identity. Other fitness and sports companies like Fitbit, Fitbug, Jawbone and Nike will help customers become better “quantified selves”.

On the other side, ‘geek-wears’ like wearable head-mounts are creating buzz as tech firms have taken different approaches towards this exciting category. While the Google Glass may not be expected to go up on sale until next year, Vuzix, Meta, GlassUp and other competitors are looking towards introducing their own products at CES, which will set the benchmark high.

Interestingly, CES 2014 will witness quality Smartwatches that will become popular as new players come into the picture. The new tech zone called “Wrist Revolution” will feature Smartwatches from a wide array of companies including Kronoz, Neptune, Cookoo, Sonostar, Metawatch, Archos, Burg, and Pine. Major companies like Qualcomm and Sony will also exhibit smart watches, along with the seasoned veteran Pebble. This section is expected to be flourished with an endless variety of smartwatches that will also observe the presence of Apple’s iWatch.
