Super Glue
“Stay where I ask you to, forever”
Purpose:
A renowned camera company led the way for the creation of what we call ‘Super Glue’ today. Dr.Harry Coover was once working for the very famous Eastman Kodak, his job was to find a plastic material that could be used as a clear gunsight. He was frustrated because the material that he invented, called cyanoacrylate was very sticky. He threw it away in disgust failing to realize that he made one of the stickiest inventions of all time.
Inventions:
Years later, he re-discovered his invention, he found the small container of cyanoacrylate still stuck behind his trash can and he could not pull it out by any means. After convincing his bosses dramatically they launched the glue and named it ‘Eastman 910’ in 1958. The first promotional strategy was by lifting a car publicly with a crane by only using the glue and it was named ‘Krazy Glue’ for the real craziness people experienced.
