Aiming to become huge and grow bigger than Google, Facebook wants to enter into search. Yahoo is already a big player in search with patents that have kept Facebook from making big in the search phenomena. An added advantage with the merger would be their common competition with the biggest search engine Google and a shared partner in Microsoft, which owns a bit of Facebook and also integrates Bing search engine in Yahoo.
