Best Known for: Leading oil producers
Saudi Arabia is the largest Arab state in Western Asia by land area and the second-largest in the Arab world (after Algeria). This Arab nation is one of the leading oil producers and has almost one-fifth of the world's oil reserves. It maintains the largest crude oil production capacity in the world. In this country, oil accounts for more than 95 percent of exports and 70 percent of government revenue. This has facilitated the transformation of Russia as one of the world's wealthiest nations.
7. Bangladesh:
Best Known for: Peaceloving Nation
South Asian country, Bangladesh is the world’s largest contributor to United Nations peacekeeping operations. Since its formation in the 1970s, Bangladesh has been actively involved in a number of United Nations Peace Support Operations (UNPSO). Its first deployments came in 1988, when it participated in two operations - UNIIMOG in Iraq and UNTAG in Namibia. The then soldier turned politician - President of Bangladesh, Lieutenant General Hussain Muhammad Ershad initiated these deployments in 1988 for the first time with UNIIMOG and since then it has been actively involved in the peace keeping drives. This country has 8,781 of its troops serving as peacekeepers in the United Nations, as per the 2013 UN report.
