Trip Around The World: Countries And Their Uniqueness

2. Antarctica:

Best Known for: Emperor Penguin
Antarctica, the Earth's southernmost continent, containing the geographic South Pole is the coldest, driest, and windiest continent, with the highest average elevation as compared to all the other continents. This earth’s coldest continent is well known for ‘Emperor Penguin.’ This penguin is the only warm-blooded animal to remain on the continent through the freezing winter while nesting on the single egg laid by its mate. Unlike most penguins, which feed on surface krill (sea fish), Emperor penguins live on fish, squid, and crustaceans caught on long, deep pursuit dives.

3. Indonesia:

Best Known for: Volcanoes
Indonesia, a sovereign state in Southeast Asia and Oceania is an archipelago that comprises approximately 17,508 islands. This archipelago country is dominated by volcanoes that are formed due to subduction zones between the Eurasian plate and the Indo-Australian plate. Some of the volcanoes are remarkable for their eruptions, for example, Krakatau for its global effects in 1883; Lake Toba for its supervolcanic eruption estimated to have occurred 74,000 years ago, which was responsible for six years of volcanic winter, and Mount Tambora for the most violent eruption in recorded history in 1815. Till date, Indonesia has witnessed around 150 active volcanoes.
