Semgel is an integrated web application to gather, organize and analyze richly structured data. The software is targeted for those users, especially journalists who need to analyze company data on the internet. Google helps us search any data in no time, but it does not provide facilities for data analysis and comparison. The information has to be copied from the net and pasted on one of the formats like word, or excel sheet, and arrange in proper sequence and appropriate headings to bring in any sort of meaningful comparison. "Semgel steps in here. It has a search engine that searches the profiles of the companies with the required data in their respective websites, and automatically formats them into rows and columns of different companies," said Harish Kumar, Chairman Semgel. Thus, a fully fledged comparison is just a few steps away for any user. Semgel launched at the NASSCOM conclave will have a free and a premium version. The free version will show only 20 companies, while the premium version has no such limitation.
