Dog Day Afternoon (1975)
Another memorable heist movie, Dog Day Afternoon is based on a true story. A bank robbery flick directed by Sidney Lumet in 1975, the movie stars John Cazale, Charles Durning and Al Pacino. Al Pacino plays an outstanding character of an inexperienced villain who wants to help his transsexual lover pay for his sex swap surgery. He gets caught up with two other amateur criminals in a Brooklyn bank and unluckily ends up after the last cash pick up with cops all around the bank outside.
