2. GlaxoSmithKline

The British multinational pharmaceutical, biologics, vaccines and consumer healthcare company knitted its commercial links with India in 1919. The company had long term investment vision in the subcontinent. It is one of the oldest pharmaceuticals companies in India.

3. Hindustan Unilever

Lever Brothers first started business in India in the summer of 1888, when crates full of Sunlight soap bars, stamped with the words "Made in England by Lever Brothers" were shipped to the Kolkata harbor and it began an era of marketing branded Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG).

The company was named as Hindustan Lever after its merger with Hindustan Vanaspati in 1956. Today HUL is the market leader in Indian consumer products with presence in over 20 consumer categories such as soaps, tea, detergents etc.
