AT&T – BellSouth Corporation
On December 29, 2006, AT&T acquired BellSouth in a deal valued at $86 billion, or 1.325 shares of AT&T for each share of BellSouth at the close of trading on the day of acquisition. With this merger, AT&T enhanced its U.S. leadership position in broadband, wireless services, voice services for consumers and businesses, and data services to Fortune 1000 companies.
