Om Prakash Yadav:  The 11 year old from Uttar Pradesh saved eight of his schoolmates from a burning bus. The scars on his face bear an account of his burned injuries but did not in the least curb his spirit and he seems ready to enact his heroism again in saving his friends.

Sindushree: The brave 13 year old Sindushree from Karnataka says she knew exactly what she was doing. Narrating the story she says “We were sitting in a city bus when I noticed a woman leaning very close to my mother. She seemed out of place and a little strange, I don't know why I felt that way. My mother too felt odd. The woman noticed me looking at her and at that moment the bus stopped and she quickly got off the bus. Immediately, I told my mother to look into her bag and we found our purse missing. I ran behind the woman but she had already boarded another bus, so I ran in front of that bus and the driver had to stop. The woman again tried to run away but I clutched her hard and did not let go, she slapped me several times but I held on until I was sure she could not escape.”
