The Nokia Communicator line the first Nokia's smartphones starting with the Nokia 9000, released in 1996. This Nokia product was powered by OS GEOS V3.0 and run on Intel 80386EX, 24 MHz. The display featured a 4.5 in (110 mm) 640x200 monochrome STN, 4 scales internally and externally it was 50x38 backlit monochrome STN, 2 scales.
3. 1998
Bluetooth hits the market in 1998 for the first time enabling easy hands free phone use. Bluetooth technology was first developed in Scandinavia, the technology is able to unite differing industries such as the cell phone, computing, and automotive markets. The wireless technology simplifies and combines multiple forms of wireless communication into a single, secure, low-power, low-cost, globally available radio frequency.
