Larry page and Sergey Brin actually wanted to be scholars. They never opted to be entrepreneurs. Their sole idea was to develop a search engine and then sell it off. The sales price of they quoted was $1 million in 1997. They travelled all over the Silicon Valley to sell it and Yahoo! was one of the companies to disappoint them. Now Google's worth is $150 billion.
