High Tech Computer Corporation, which was founded in 1997 officially cut its name to HTC in 2008. The company which is headquartered in Taiwan manufactured some of the world's first touch and wireless hand held equipments. It includes Palm Treo, one of the world’s first touch screen Smartphone and also include the first Microsoft powered Smartphone.

HTC Dream, marketed by T-Mobile in many countries was the first phone on the market to use the Android mobile device platform.
