Initially criticized as one of the worst corporate name changes in the history, Accenture was once known as Anderson Consulting, which was an extremely strong brand. It was renamed in 2001. In 1989, Anderson Consulting separated from its parent company, Arthur Anderson and continued the success story. They broke the ties in 2000 and this gave rise to the new company name, Accenture.
