International Business Machines, most popularly known as IBM was founded in 1911 as the Computing Tabulating Recording Corporation with the merger of four companies: the Tabulating Machine Company, International Time Recording Company, Computing Scale Corporations and Bundy Manufacturing Company. The company was renamed to IBM in 1924, using a name that was designed to the company's subsidiary in Canada and later South America.
