The Apprentice
TV Shows for Entrepreneurs
An American reality show, it focuses on a group of contestants vying to earn a place in one of real estate magnate, businessman, and television personality Donald Trump's organizations. Coming from different backgrounds, the candidates compete for a one-year contract (starting from $250000) for running one of the businesses of Donald Trump. The eliminations occur in two stages--in the first stage the entire losing team is told about the loss, where the project manager (made to choose from within the team) is asked to select the members, whom he feels belong to the final boardroom meeting; and the second stage sees the project manager along with the chosen members face the boardroom meeting, with at least one of the candidates is fired. Though Trump reserves the powers to choose who is in and who is out, the candidates can also leave the show at their will. The final three or four candidates are interviewed by executives from various companies, following which a final firing session takes place--two candidates are assigned different tasks, and the apprentice is chosen from among them.
