The online education site, Academic Earth, that Steve Jobs once termed could revolutionize the education industry is acquired by Ampush Media. The deal amount was undisclosed. The strategic acquisition enables the San Francisco based Ampush Media to enhance their content and technology offerings, empowering learners to find and explore high-quality educational resources online. Founded in 2009 by Nick Shah, Jesse Pujji and Chris Amos, Ampush Media acquired Academic Earth to grow its presence in online media and technology.

Academic Earth was founded by Richard Ludlow, Chris Bruner and Liam Pisona in 2008. The company provided over 350 free online video courses.
