William Nelson invented a new way to motorize bicycles. He then fell off his prototype bike while going up a hill during a test run. Nelson was an employee of General Electrics, and was regarded as an inventor of much promise. In 1903, while testing a new motor attachment for a bicycle that he created himself, he tried to ride up a hill, but fell off the bicycle opposite to his father-in-law's home, and was killed on the spot,
