Telephone numbers with the prefix 555 are fictitious telephone numbers, which was first used in the movie 'Panic in the Year Zero!', and thereafter in many television shows, films, games, and other media. The number became so widely used in the media that the telephone numbers 555-0100 through 555-0199 are now specifically reserved for fictional use throughout U.S. and Canada, except for the area code 800. The number 800-555-0199 is reserved, and the other numbers are actual allotted numbers. Before the number 55 gained popularity, telephone exchanges used letters and numbers in the phone numbers, which made ‘Klondike 5’ widely in use. Scriptwriters started inventing fake telephone exchanges starting with the names starting with ‘Q’ or ‘Z’. The telephone numbers starting with 555 are now widely in use for many businesses and places.
