The company which manufactures ahead-of-its time products is known for its products failing at the last moment. The name Acme became famous by 1920s when the business directories became popular. The company is known to produce every imaginable product—none of which has ever known to have worked. The name “Acme” has become a generic corporate name and appears to be a conglomerate, based in Fairfield, New Jersey.
