Way back in 2010 when windows got out the Windows 7 on the phones, it was thought to be the next big thing in the industry. But it didn’t reach its expectation, and was phased out by better features of really iOS and the Android platforms.

So, Windows decided to get back on the track with its own set of comparable features. ‘Cortana’ the personal voice assisted assistant, which helps us find our search results, or remind us about something important through voice reminders. This is the same feature like the iOS ‘Siri’ and the Android ‘Google Now’, but the Cortana is the combination of the best parts from both.

 The Cortana replaces the Bing search on the windows phones and will be activated by the search key. Cortana behaves just like ‘Siri’, it will search the web, read out messages, add reminders, respond to you with your name and much more, just by asking for it. Bing and Foursquare are the support for Cortana’s external information pool. Cortana also scans your personal information to add to the custom notifications which means that it will scan through your emails and messages and remind you of schedules mentioned in the emails or messages. For privacy, Cortana saves all the personal information in a folder which can be edited or deleted.
