From Sports Field to the Boardroom
A legendary former quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, Roger Staubach, has been described as possibly the best combination of a passer, an athlete, and a leader to every NFL player by Cowboys head coach Tom Landry. He has been given the titles of "Roger the Dodger", "Captain America", and "Captain Comeback" for his various heroics. His penchant for leading scoring drives, lead the Cowboys to improbable victories. His most famous moment on-field was the "Hail Mary Pass" a desperate last-minute pass play to the end zone in a desperate attempt to score a winning touchdown. After retiring from football, he started a commercial real-estate business "The Staubach Company", which he prepared by working during the off-seasons. He had been the Chairman and the CEO, before stepping down in 2007. The company was later sold to Jones Lang LaSalle for $613 million in 2008. He has worked as a spokesperson for a men's clothing retailer Anserson Lillte, a color commentator for CBS Sport's NFL telecasts, and is a co-owner if the "Hall of Fame Racing", a NASCAR Nextel Cup Team, but now a minority owner.
